Perspective Taking…

Sometimes it is as simple as a new perspective that moves us in the direction we truly care about and opens up the endless possibilities within relationship.

About Tara

Tara Concelman is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and a parent of three adults in their 30’s. She received her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology in 1990 from Texas A&M University, and completed Post Graduate Coursework in Behavior Analysis in 2010. Tara considers her most valuable source of knowledge came from raising her three children, one of who was diagnosed with Autism and intellectual disability in 1995. Raising three children, with one on the autism spectrum, before the internet, required constant continuing education. Tara discovered that children’s most effective experts and therapists are their own parents. Now that her children are grown, she specializes in teaching parents the skills they need to raise up their children in attached, empathetic, loving and accepting environments. Using the principles of applied behavior science, relation-frame theory (RFT), Acceptance-and-Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, positive parenting paradigms, PEAK relational training, she works with individuals, parents, children and teachers to optimize and increase flexible behavior repertories in the service of living life according to values and connection.

Thank you so much Tara! It was such a blessing meeting you and I really enjoyed our session today! I took away lots of great things that I can't wait to use! We had a test today and at first she said " I don't want to take a test", I said " You don't want to take a test". I waited.... and she said "Oh Ok". Wow!! I hope things will start to change and I can't wait to be a better mom and teacher! Thanks for helping me to see some things today that I needed to change as well as some things needed to help Gabi!

I would like to thank you once again for your help earlier this year. The suggestions you gave me to help Austin have really made miracles in my child’s behavior. It is truly amazing. He still has his struggles but they are coming fewer and far between now. We are truly blessed to have you.
